The PSFA has a Safeguarding Officer (SO) who has overall responsibility for the safeguarding of children. This person has special responsibilities and is the focal point for safeguarding children when training or playing games for Pembrokeshire Schools.
The Safeguarding Officer (Bernard Steer) undertakes regular monitoring and risk assessments of all activities involving children (or will delegate to another nominated person within the Schools Association).
Anyone with a concern about a Child or young person’s welfare should contact the SO for advice in the first instance bearing in mind the key principles underpinning this policy:
- The child’s welfare is, and always must be, the paramount consideration;
- All children and young people have a right to be protected from abuse regardless of their age, gender, disability, culture, language, racial origin,
religious beliefs, or sexual identity; - All allegations of abuse or poor practice will be taken seriously and responded to efficiently and proportionately.
